With what's stated in the OP, I'm doubting mom. Hopefully the son knows his parents well enough to make a judgment call or can get enough clarification to make a decision on which parent he should eliminate. Did mom walk in on Dad calling a phone sex line or is he obscene calling kinder care? It concerns me that she's ready to call her ex a pedophile, but is unconcerned about what has already happened or would happen prior to a the arrival of a granddaughter.
